I don't know anything about this possible incompatibility with TypeAlign, but the Installer script for the Comm Toolbox does include a deinstall procedure. Unfortunately, the Installer's method of allowing access to this procedure is badly-designed: you need to click the Custom button, then, in the Custom screen, hold down the option key.
