Although I have checked the host entries very carefully in the Hosts file, both of these HyperCard programs will not recognize hosts in that file. I am have installed MacTCP version 1.0.1....In the text of the hosts file it says: ;Hosts ;This file is parsed by the MacTCP domain name resolver and the resource ;records are loaded into the resolver's cache Is it a problem with MacTCP, or the XCMDS these programs are using ?? Am I mistaken in by belief that "cached" hosts do not require a query to the name server ?? Our GaterMail-Q seems to handle the hosts file correctly... Thanks for any insight. -- jens@corp.mot.com Voice: (708) 576-3312 UUCP: uunet!motcid!jens "The above statements are my own and do not reflect the views of Motorola."
