Berkeley -- ERL Lines: 16 Well, probably someone can solve an annoying problem that I've lived with for a while: The 800k internal drive in my MacPlus failed twice a while ago, and both times it cost me quite a bit to get it replaced. After it failed again, I just gave up and bought an external drive. According to somebody I asked, there is/was a known problem with early macplus drives, in which the R/W head fails. Does anybody know how to fix the drive, so I don't have to shell out another $200? I'm not afraid of opening the damn thing up, but in my line of EE I rarely need to repair disk drives..... =) Thanks in advance! Sam Sheng (ssheng@zion.berkeley.edu)
