I have had varying degrees of success at this. In all attempts I used resedit 1.3d1. First attempt: This was on a mac IIx. I found I could edit the bitmaps for characters which already existed, but the attempt to replace a character represented by a box in keycaps would cause all such characters to change. Second and third attempt: These were both on SEs. The first SE gives a system error #2 every time I try to open a FONT resource. On the second SE resedit quits unexpectedly when I try to open a FONT resource. My questions are: Why does this work on a macII and not the SE? Can I give a different character assignment to each character which is unused (i.e. shown as a box in keycaps). I need to generate special characters for writing in Romanian, and have found no such fonts available.
