Subject: Why is my Appletalk turning on by itself?

I have been having a problem with my Mac SE/30 (system 6.0.4) that when I boot
up SOMETIMES my printer port is unavailable!  When I go into the Chooser I find
that AppleTalk has be activated (I do not have an AppleTalk set-up), and the
printer port has been changed to the modem port! This has caused me numerous
printing (and MIDI) problems.

What is causing this?
