I too have often thought that some sort of "login" would be
nice on the Mac in my office at work, so that, for example,
people who use my Mac for random things when I am away
can easily be prevented from mucking with everything.

Probably a good way to do it, from the user interface point
of view, is to make it look like AppleShare.  The only difference
would be you use your own machine as the server.

This would probably fit in well with System 7, also.
