I would also say go with the ci, especially since apple recently announced a ci price drop of something like 20%. (Damn, why couldn't they announce it when I bought mine). One option I have been considering is thus: Buy a used mac II for something like 1000 dollars. Then do the II to fx upgrade for 2600 dollars. Buy 8 MB for something like 600 dollars.
