On our 4D/320S, IRIX 3.3 , I get the following error running finger:

finger
finger: /dev/sun3.che: No such file or directory

a who gives:

who
shelley    ttyq1        Sep  5 13:21
root       ttyq3        Sep  5 14:38
kistler    ttyq5        Sep  5 14:18
kistler    sun3.chem.u  Sep  5 14:17

So there is a problem with multiple logins from remote sites (here
sun3.chem.upenn.edu). Anybody else seen this? Fixed in the next
release?

P.S. it behaves fine unless a machine name is somewhere in the device who list.
