I need to learn the basics of pseudo-terminals. I'm running SysV with some software that will use the pty driver to (supposedly) allow multiple users to login to a single, shared, tty device. I have the pty software and some minimal docs, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with some background on what a pseudo-terminal is and what it's supposed to do. Anyone interested in giving me (or pointing me to) a short tutorial on the subject, hopefully tuned to environments (like mine) where the pty isn't a native part of the system? Thanks much... -- John R.
