Kent) Organization: DEC Western Software Laboratory Lines: 12 Don't overlook the fact that two of the three people mentioned (Jobs and Joy) have or had a commercial interest in seeing X fail. Jim Fulton says that X's worst failing is probably its dependency on the pixel as the base unit. I'd be tempted to agree, and this is one of the reasons we've worked so hard on the Display PostScript extension. Not only does it remove the need for client programs to worry about pixel densities, it also allows client programs not to worry about what strange variant of color hardware exists on the server.
