Message-ID: <9009071725.AA01215@> Date: 7 Sep 90 17:25:21 GMT Sender: daemon@athena.mit.edu (Mr Background) Organization: The Internet Lines: 29 I am installing X11R4 on a Sun 3/60 running SunOS 4.1 compiled with GCC 1.37.1. I made the changes to gcc fixincludes to compile correctly, but now when X is started, via startx, the xterm window is shown with a hollow box for the cursor and then exits. The message received from xinit is: xterm: warning, error event receieved: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 28 (X_GrabButton) Minor opcode of failed request: 0 Resource id in failed request: 0xc Serial number of failed request: 45 Current serial number in output stream: 51 waiting for X server to shut down The binaries and libraries are installed on an NFS shared drive on another server. I have checked to make sure everything is installed as the release notes specify. I even checked on the fonts as it says may be wrong when this problem happens. I have it running just fine on a Sun 4/110. Can someone tell me other things to check which might be causing this problem? Thanks in advance... dave
