Not qualified to answer your first question. As for the second question. If the display boards( I think what you mean as in two X display servers) are "true" i.e. confirm to the X11RZ (Z= 3 or 4) protocol the software should not have any problem displaying. I recommend X Protocol Reference Manual for version 11 by Robert W. Scheifler (O'Reilly and Assoc) to resolve doubts.
