I don't know how common this is anyway; the articles Adding a missing date header just makes it that much easier to circulate garbage, including old articles, into the net. At least now the software/person has to inject a current date into the old articles. If the news software were to add dates then simply deleting the date would be enough. If dateless articles are not so common then it will not be a big problem to not forward them. Regurgatated articles are a big enough problem to warant not forwarding them.
