A few years ago, MCI changed my dial 1+ long distance service from AT&T (my selection) to themselves, against my wishes. After some wrangling, and about a year or so, they finally credited my local phone co. account (U.S. West) with the change order service fees. The other day, I received a letter in the mail from MCI saying welcome to MCI's 1+ service. Wait, I thought, didn't I speak to an MCI telemarketer a month or so ago, asked to speak with their supervisor, and explicitly told him NOT TO CHANGE ONE THING? Yes, in fact I did. So I dialed the 700-555-4141 number to see who my long distance carrier really was, and lo-and-behold, it said MCI. Those jerks told U.S. West to change my service from AT&T to MCI again, without my permission. Can you tell that I'm annoyed? I'm writing MCI a nasty letter, and I'd like to send copies of it to U.S. West, AT&T and oh, say the attorney general, too. I can get addresses for the former and latter easily enough, but which address for AT&T would be the right one for maximum attention and effectivity? Maybe I need to send it to several places. I don't have time for screwing around like this, and I don't like having to pay someone for something I didn't want. I want to get MCI's attention once and for all. I'd appreciate any suggestions. ...Chris Johnson chris@c2s.mn.org ..uunet!bungia!com50!chris Com Squared Systems, Inc. St. Paul, MN USA +1 612 452 9522
