I'm hacking on the *ultimate screen_editor* ,( nothing fancy really ) for the IBM-PC, and as I'm used to the Macintosh world I'm trying to port the concepts of 'WYSIWYG' kind of dialog editing. Now to the problem. What is this 'Metafile' stuff ???. As far as I'm concerned it's some kind of device independent way of storing your pictures. I'm using the GSS*CGI graphics development toolkit, and inside it I found these 'Metafile' drivers. It seems to me like they create files ( really *BIG* ) containing info 'bout the pic's , but after storing them, how do I get them back !! ( i.e do I have to parse the created files my self, and if, what are the formats and so on ) Any comments, such as references, source etc. would be appreciated. As I'm new to the net, please forgive me for asking *stupid* questions, but I really want to know, and I thought this group would be appropiate. Ville K{rkk{inen d87-vik@nada.kth.se
