I received _so_ many helpful responses that thanking everyone individually would take a l o n g time. I think others might be interested in the results of my question, so here's what we found out: The result of the survey shows a price range on this book anywhere from $52.00 on the low end (discount bookstore) all they way up through the full $70.00. List price on the book is $64.50. Apparently a little hunting can easily get the book down to $60.00 or so, and a little more might save $15.00-$20.00. The place I saw the book was our local B. Daltons Software Etc. This is the second time I've found out they are selling books _above_ list_price! I don't mind them making some profit, but being unreasonable isn't the way to attract my business. The first time was with the K&R C 2nd Ed. It contained a price list in the back of the book for various texts among which it was included. B. Daltons wanted about $5.00 over list. Summary Summary: Foley, van Dam, etc. 2nd Edition is a greatt book, again likely to be _the_ standard, and anyone interested in graphics should go out and buy it. However, AVOID B. DALTONS UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE - THEY'LL GOUGE YOU! You should find it for around $60.00 as an average. JPM -- John P.
