Lines: 33 Now that we've got this newsgroup going, what do you think of a monthly posting? Possible topics would include: 1. What is Objective-C? 2. How is Objective-C different from C and C++. 3. A small example Objective-C program. 4. What is late binding and how to take advantage of it. 5. Class libraries and Objective-C. 6. What is a Model-View-Controller (MVC)? 7. List of books and articles on Objective-C. 8. List of vendors selling Objective-C and contact points (not limited to the USA). Included in the list are the machines and operating systems the vendor supports. Some comment needs to be made on differences in class libraries, development environments (and language??). 9. What is GNU Objective-C. 10. List of vendors/sources for Objective-C tools/utilities (class libraries, development tools, packages that interface to Objective-C). This is just a start. I am NOT volunteering to write or maintain a monthly posting (I'm up to my eyeballs already in work and am not the most qualified to comment on any of this) -- I just like to stir up trouble for others :-). Perhaps someone could step forward (perhaps from Stepstone?) and write and maintain something like this? -- Chuck Noren NET: dinl!noren@ncar.ucar.edu US-MAIL: Martin Marietta I&CS, MS XL8058, P.O.
