Any mail with a '%' in the envelope address is bounced with two error messages. It acts as if the entire address is a local address and complains of "user unknown". Also, much of the mail received at this site comes in via UUCP. For these pieces of mail, the gateway site uses a pure !-path as the "MAIL From" site in the SMTP negotiation. This causes a problem when communicating with certain machines (usually DEC and IBM computers). Any suggestions for changes to the sendmail.cf file would be appreciated.
