The ARTS real-time OS kernel developed at CMU by Prof. Hideyuki Tokuda and his staff I believe was developed using OO languages. In fact, they have a language called RTC++ which is a real-time extension of C++, develped mainly by Dr. Yutaka Ishikawa; his paper on RTC++ will be presented at ECOOP/OOPSLA'90.
