Keywords: X terminal, crashes, help Message-ID: <1924@gazette.bcm.tmc.edu> Date: 13 Sep 90 18:52:41 GMT Sender: usenet@bcm.tmc.edu Lines: 32 Nntp-Posting-Host: wilkins.iaims.bcm.tmc.edu I have Andrew from the X11R4 tape plus the patches from expo. I have built several of the Andrew applications on a Sun 4 clone (Solbourne) and they run just fine off of a SPARCstation 1. However, they all dump core when I try to run them from an X terminal. (I have both b&w and color NCD X terminals.) The error message is: ez new.table Starting ez (Version 7.0, ATK 15.0); please wait... Could not open the display; this program will not run without a window system. Segmentation fault (core dumped) Unfortunately, I didn't build this stuff with -g, so I can't give much information about where it's dying: (dbx) where ezapp__Start() at 0xbd50 main() at 0x2ad0 I just built this stuff this morning, so I haven't begun looking for the problem myself yet. If anybody has gotten Andrew applications running successfully on an X terminal and could give me a hand, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance! --Janet -- Janet L.
