Everything went perfectly, including installation of the new FaastROM SCSI driver from GVP (which a speeds up disk I/O by 20-30%). I downloaded a couple of disk I/O tests from Bix and they seemed to work fine - I'm going to compare the results with a Mac SE/30 at work. One of the tests was SCSI Evaluator 1.04 which worked perfectly when told to use the Mac driver. The read test came up with a value of 1200 Kbits/sec (150Kbytes/sec), which is quite a bit slower than the value reported by DiskSpeed 3.1 under AmigaDOS - about 600Kbytes/sec. It's probably not a fair comparison. Does anyone have a disk test that runs under both AmigaDOS and the Mac OS? ________________________ Bob Fillmore, Systems Software & Communications BITNET: FILLMORE@EMRCAN Computer Services Centre, BIX: bfillmore Energy, Mines, & Resources Canada Voice: (613) 992-2832 588 Booth St., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K1A 0E4 FAX: (613) 996-2953
