I was running an A1000 with a Hurricane accelerator, and had similar
problems with a Xetec hard drive controller.
I built a bus terminator (it's been on the net a couple of times) and
away went the problem. Later I installed a Rejuvenator, which rejuced
bus noise, as most of it came from the Kickstart daughter board which
the Rejuvenator replaces, and now I don't need the terminator.

Get the Rejuvenator, and solve all your problems.
