I'm having a strange problem with my monochrome monitor.  The electron
scan beam will only display white for about a couple of pixels, and then
shut off until white is reactivated again.  (i.e.  for a totally white
screen, you will only see a white vertical bar on the left side of the
screen.)  The grid desktop pattern looks okay (because white is turned on
every other pixel), but text is impossible to read.  I know it's not the
ST because the ST works fine with another monochrome monitor.  Can anybody
tell me what is wrong and perhaps provide me with a simple solution?
