It runs P/OS, a brain-damaged variant of RSX-11M-PLUS, and other PDP-11 software. The IVIS was "Interactive Video Instructional System" which allowed the use of a LaserDisc video source in conjunction with the system, with interactive control for instructional use. That was an interesting multimedia implementation, which you probably will not be able to take advantage of (unless you're a real serious hacker, in which case you have got yourself a wonderful toy! also in which case, contact me via e-mail).
