I have been informed that the HP48SX display RAM is not at a fixed memory location (as CHIP48 currently assumes), but moves when libraries are attached and perhaps also under other circumstances. This would explain the display wrapping problem. It seems most people who use libraries have rev D ROMs, perhaps because of HP:s free equation card offer. This explains why the problem has mostly affected people with the D ROM (the referred article being the exception). For now, try removing all libraries from the calculator.
