I understand from a local dealer here in Edinburgh and also from DIP, the company who designed the Portfolio, that serial software will be available shortly. (Shortly is defined as "early October".) The software will include terminal emulation (VT52 & VT100) as well as file transfer utilities (such as XMODEM). I've been told it will be on a ROM card like the other ROM cards (Finance, Science and Utilities) currently available. The information is a bit sketchy at the moment, but I hope it's a help.
