Message-ID: Date: 12 Sep 90 13:26:42 GMT Sender: news@iesd.auc.dk (UseNet News) Distribution: comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware Organization: Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Aalborg Lines: 21 Ok, for once I'll ask a very specific question: I've bought a used Cipher tapestreamer 525CT (no. X30863) and was wondering if it could be plugged into an ordinary floppy controller or, if not, where to get a controller. I've tried the FD cont., and it nearly worked (until I tried to format the tape - then it wouldn't acknowledge the unit). The interface to the tape is standard 2x17 wires and the only dipswitch is set in position W4 (alternatives are W5, W10 and W9). I have no special device drivers in my config.sys. Sorry about wasting bandwidth, but I have nowhere to turn but to you net.people. Any suggestions, facts, hints etc is *greatly* appreciated, preferably by email. I'll post a small follow-up about the result. advTHANXance! -- /Richard Flamsholt richard@iesd.auc.dk
