I currently run a clone Hercules graphics card with a cheap mono monitor. I would like to upgrade to take advantage of VGA now but I want to make sure I can take advantage of any new standard (eg SuperVGA) when such becomes a standard. I do statistical work, so my graphic needs are not so intense as a CAD application. (In fact my herc solution works okay, it is just that so many of my new programs really don't like herc very much.) In any event, I am looking for recommendations for a card/monitor that is both cost effective now but will not limit me to VGA when something better becomes common.
