I have been trying to help someone with her table in Word 4.0, which is
a large English/French calendar for 90/91 with 24 columns and many many
cells. She has a cx with 5 megs of RAM, no MultiFinder, and when she
tries to change any of the column widths, it immediately tells her: "Low
on memory, close all windows and save." The file is only 83K, so what
gives??

Upping the application size to 2 megs doesn't really do anything unless
you are using MF, so what can we do to overcome the memory problem??

RAM cache is off, BTW.

Any suggestions (other than splitting the file) are most welcome.
