Message-ID: <1990Sep16.020025.22749@midway.uchicago.edu> Date: 16 Sep 90 02:00:25 GMT Sender: c3ar@finite.chi.il.us Distribution: na Organization: Dept. of Mathematics, Ohio University Lines: 25 Help! My mac is connected to our UNIX mainframe via some sort of terminal concentrator, and none of the communication methods for file transfers and email that I have used successfully on direct connections work. (1) Zterm fails (crc errors) (2) Binary Kermit fails (3) Macput, macget, macbput, and other forms of xmodem fail (4) UUPC fails (with the error message "bad header") My *conjecture* is that the failure is due to some 7-bit connection somewhere along the way. Another possible problem are the irritating ^S/^Q Xoff/Xon characters that these lines seem to have. Is this a good guess? Can anyone point me to utilities that *will* work in this environment? Any suggestions greatfully appreciated.
