Summary: Which MIDI Interface? Message-ID: <1990Sep15.171508.923@cbnews.att.com> Date: 15 Sep 90 17:15:08 GMT Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories Lines: 18 I am finally going to bite the bullet and get a MIDI setup for home. Does anyone have any advice on which MIDI interface to buy? I had been leaning toward the Passport interface, but the Altech has 3 MIDI out connectors to 1 for the Passport, and it is about $20 cheaper. I only need a simple interface and plan to use only one or tow MIDI devices, so do the multiple outputs really matter? Could I just chain them using the one output? Also, this will mean I have 3 serial devices, but only two ports. Does anyone know someplace that carries a simple little switch box so I can let the MIDI and the modem share a port? Thanks in advance for any responses. -- - _ Joe Brownlee, Analysts International Corp. @ AT&T Network Systems /_\ @ / ` 471 E Broad St, Suite 1610, Columbus, Ohio 43215 (614) 860-7461 / \ | \_, E-mail: jbr@cblph.att.com Who pays attention to what _I_ say?
