Just a neato little feature of After Dark 2.0 that surprised me:

If you select Shut Down from the Special menu and DON'T turn the
machine off when you get the cordial message from Apple that you can
now safely turn off your Macintosh, After Dark will turn itself on,
but will default back to the skyline screen saver. Pretty cool...
