Keywords: rtape Message-ID: <1990Sep17.131651.10835@pyro.ei.dupont.com> Date: 17 Sep 90 13:16:51 GMT Sender: Grant C Blair Organization: DuPont Electronic Imaging Lines: 26 Can anybody tell me what the utility "rtape" does? I know it's not standard Unix, but one of our clients has submitted a tape to me which he wrote using "rtape" and suggests I read using the same utility, then piping the output through cpio. An examination of the tape with "tcopy" reveals that there are an awful lot of blocks, each about 10k or so in size, contained within one file. "tar" returns with the warning that the directory is unreadable. Any help much appreciated (the person who sent the tape is unreachable for a few weeks).
