User unknown ----- Unsent message follows ----- Received: from CAS.BITNET by lilac.berkeley.edu (5.64/1.16.26) id AA24626; Sat, 15 Sep 90 05:09:40 -0700 Message-Id: <9009151209.AA24626@lilac.berkeley.edu> From: lwv27@CAS.bitnet Date: Sat, 15 Sep 1990 06:56 EDT Subject: make problem To: comp-unix-programmer@ucbvax.berkeley.edu I am using a Sparcstation 1+, SunOS 4.1 and the System V Sun environment. When I try to run make on a version of the mp v2.4 makefile, I get the message: make: Fatal error in reader: Makefile, line 121: Unexpected end of line seen. Question 1: what techniques does one have available in order to track down a problem similar to this? Question 2: another similar type error that I have seen has to do on ultrix with getting a message indicating a bad error code. What is typically interesting is that there was no error from the cc when it occured, and if I type the same command on the command line $? does not get set nor do I have a problem with the result. -- Larry W.
