	I have an early model Vax 3500 with Rev 3 Microcode and
Rev 18 fireware. It appears that if I wish to upgrade Ultrix to
version 3 or greater, I am required to upgrade my CPU revision
level as well at a cost of $15000.

	Does anybody know what the changes were and if the CPU upgrade
is essential for reliable operation.
