Well something all of you should know... there is a thing in the department of justice called the "victom/witness act for rhe handicapped". Sonce Willie is handicpaped (as most of us are here) he could call the cops and say DUE TO HIS DISABILITY the loud stereo upstairs over him with the "boys" is a probelm to him. By ADA rules, the cops then have to take the complaint and issue a disturbing the peace summons.. Then willie could take them to court. The cops CANNOT ignore this kind of complaint form a handicpaped person. I know of a group of epileptrics here in NYC as an example who live near a disaco that blasts so loud most of them suffered seizures. It was in the papes the new ADA law was used and they as a group got the cops to issue a summons for "reckless endangerment" and "hnarassment" to the disco on their behalf.. in the papers, they said living near that disco and having seizures so often was like the Chinese Water torture. Amazing.. and the ADA stipulation was what did it! First time I ever heard in the news about ADA being cited to deal with a crime against disabled people! I am beginning to like that law. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!107!608!Tzipporah.Benavraham Internet: Tzipporah.Benavraham@f608.n107.z1.fidonet.org
