Message-ID: <1990Sep15.131745.13372@nmrdc1.nmrdc.nnmc.navy.mil> Date: 15 Sep 90 13:17:45 GMT Distribution: na Organization: Naval Medical Research & Development Command Lines: 19 Yesterday afternoon after newsrunning was set to "on" for the evening, all articles ended up in the bit bucket with nothing in log, errlog, or history. I had just successfully fixed (I thought) a problem in nntp 1.5.10 bacth.c that prevented the execle() of newsrun from working on Sys V R 3.2.2 It seems Sys V R 3's exec(2) cannot directly exec a shell script. Newsrun works fine from cron or when run manually as news. I suspect a permissions problem when it is run out of nntpd. My temp fix is to comment out the execle in batch.c and let cron handle the processing of incoming batches. Can anyone provide some help? Also, any way to get the missing articles from my feed site?
