I was walking him, out for maybe a half hour, and I had for some reason taken my glasses despite knowing there were likely to be few birds in our neighborhood. I guess the migration has begun: I saw, among others, a yellow- throated warbler, a Pine, Yellow-Rumped, and a Golden-Winged. Two Great Blue Herons rowed along at about five hundred feet when I got back to the house...thank goodness for the impulse to pick up the binocs!
