In the manual for configuring and generating MH, it says that for
non-Berkeley Unix systems, if you use the NDIR option, it will "try to
find the new directory access mechanism by looking in <ndir.h>. [...]
Otherwise, MH will try <ndir.h>."  I don't know what this means.
Further, it says, "If you still can't get this to work on your system,
edit h/local.h as appropriate."  I can't figure out what would be
appropriate.

I need to do something to get the directory access methods to work.
Can anyone help?

This is for a 3B2 running System V Release 3.1.1.
