Keywords: files filesystems MacIntosh fork Message-ID: <1990Sep25.174545.17631@murdoch.acc.Virginia.EDU> Date: 25 Sep 90 17:45:45 GMT Sender: news@murdoch.acc.Virginia.EDU Followup-To: comp.misc Organization: University of Virginia Lines: 27 DOES ANYONE KNOW: 1) What/who is the origin of the double forked (data/resource) files in the Apple Mac ? 2) Are there any other filesystems with "optional" info stored somewhere other than the file-header or inode or directory struct ? ( excluding the obvious example of indexed files on systems like VMS that support it in the file system. ) 3) Any examples of unique or different info stored in file-header/inode/ directory other than the usual: owner+protection, timestamps, extents, record-structure,quota-info,etc... ? Reply via E-mail and I will summarize, etc. is preferable, ( Things seem to disappear if I don't read news every day ! ) other-wise: followup to comp.misc. ======================================================================== Steven D.
