The woman calling from HP asked if I use any LaserJet IIP printers, or knew anyone who did (the answer to both is "no"). The reason she asked, is that HP has announced a recall on certain LaserJet IIP printers, due to a problem of some sort with the power supply. Printers affected by this recall have a model number of 33417B, and have serial numbers which fall into the range 2925-2950. Anyone who has one of these printers, or who wishes to get further information about this recall, is asked to call Hewlett-Packard at the toll-free number 800-233-5153. [This number may not work from outside the U.S.; non-U.S. users should probably contact their local HP dealers for information about this recall]
