Dyer Computer Consulting, Cambridge MA Lines: 16 Several months ago there was some discussion of the regional and commercial networks which comprise the Internet offering some form of fee-for-membership or fee-for-use dialin service at major metropolitan centers. I seem to remember some expressions on interest or intent on the part of Alternet and Barrnet, and I believe that PSInet offers dialup service, though at the time it only offered connections to other PSInet sites, and therefore was not useful as a general Internet resource. Can anyone comment on the current status of these or any other initiatives in this area? -- Steve Dyer dyer@ursa-major.spdcc.com aka {ima,harvard,rayssd,linus,m2c}!spdcc!dyer dyer@arktouros.mit.edu, dyer@hstbme.mit.edu
