SC 6.8 has a serious bug in the handling of its ``dotb'' buffer that can lead to a core dump. The buffer is overrun in normal operation; exactly when depends on which host and compiler you use. The bug kills SC's ``save before Spreadsheet dies'' fallback, causing you to lose your work. I lost three hours of work due to this bug on a Sparcstation 1. A fix is reportedly in the works.
