(I already have the useful things on ff <100 on tape :-) The only way to reduce space taken by the ff archive seems to be repacking everything with lharc. I know this might not be a very good idea because lharc is only available for some mainframe systems (like SunOS and 4.2/3 BSD, but it's all I could come up with.
