One was to bring back the "luxury" tax. Among other things, it would place a 10% tax on purchases of electronic items over $1,000. It didn't explicitly say, but I assume computer equipment is considered an electronic item. So if you bought, say, a $4000 A3000, you would pay a 10% additional tax on the $3,000 over the $1,000 limit, for a total of an extra $300. Something to think about if you're planning the timing of a big electronics purchase. Richard
