We got a brochure from Corporate Systems Center describing some of the harddisks they sell. We are eyeing a Miniscribe 110Mb 17ms harddisk for US$495. Can somebody please comment on the price? (I don't know the current harddisk prices) [...] I bought one of those drives at that price from them early this past summer for use on a system at the office. It's been working fine 24 hours/day since the date of installation. Note those drives are refurbished; but I needed >80 MB capacity in a half-height package at a price for which I could get a PO cut by my company and that drive met the requirements. For reference, that drive is 5-1/4" half-height SCSI and works on both Amigas and Macs; I shoehorne d it into an Apple 20SC case (and tossed the Seagate 20MB SCSI drive that was originally in the case). If you use Apple HD cases, be aware that Apple, too, miswires the SCSI cabling in violation of the ANSI specs ... they do NOT daisy chain the cable (probably explains why they're no longer on the SCSI committee) Thad Floryan [ thad@cup.portal.com (OR) ..!sun!portal!cup.portal.com!thad ]
