Thanks Folks !!! Anyway it looks as though one of my 8520s is up the spout, if I swap them round, the clock works but the mouse occasionally freezes. I cannot be sure which of the two is damaged and I cannot be sure that they are not both damaged. From the schematics, they are both very closely interconnected and so may both have suffered some dammage. I will therefore replace them both. If anyone can suggest a comprehensive test for these chips out of the amiga a may try that on the old ones before throwing them out. If one still works, I could then keep it as a spare. Any response, any at all, would be appreciated.
