I'd like to pursue the question of whether there is a program that can create .Z (compressed) files on a GS. One response said there was a program in the archives. On Brown there are two files (89-01155 and 56) that purport to be compress. Is that what I am looking for? The first one has a note "(needs shell)" -- does that mean I won't be able to run it from the Finder (I don't have APW.) A couple of other people pointed me to NuLib, but, if I understand their messages that is a) still in beta, and b) only available in C. Anyone willing to compile it and ship me a copy? (strangers need not volunteer.) TMPLee@dockmaster.ncsc.mil
