There is one more operating system option that hasn't been mentioned:
TSX-Plus from S & H.  It is a multi-tasking multi-user kernel that 
loads over RT11.  It gives each process a virtual RT11 machine.  On the 
PRO models it supports 3 users without additional hardware (except 2 more
terminals of course).
