The camera case comes with 2 pieces of plastic foam as a filler, when you buy it. I left the plastic foam in the case, and just inserted the calculator into the case between the foam sandwich. The net result is a VERY padded protection for the 48. I have never tried it, but I would be willing to bet that you could drop the case/calculator from a height of 4 or 5 ft without hurting anything. I can't remember the brand name of the case, but I remember that it costs around $5.00. It's the only one they sell that's about the size of the 48. Paul
